A peek inside the studio

Welcome!!  My studio is a quiet, cozy place to kick back and relax while we do photos.  Newborn parents are often exhausted from getting little to no sleep during those first few weeks, so it is a must to have a place for them to relax comfortably during the session.  It’s not uncommon to find a new mom or dad catching a little nap!  Dad’s enjoy the large flat screen television, I usually just hand them the remotes as soon as they walk through the door, not one dad has complained about that yet, ha!  I stock snacks as well as bottled water for newborn sessions as well, and there is a table and chairs for clients who wish to bring lunch with them.

Props…. everyone always wants to know if they need to bring props to their newborn session, the answer is nope!  I have a large selection of props in the studio, some might even say I have too many!  But really, is that even possible?!  Who can pass up an adorable bonnet, or furry rug, or flower headband, or soft striped pants?!  That being said, while I have a ton of props on hand, I often order special items to create the perfect set up to coordinate with a client’s nursery or home decor if I have enough time to do so.  Most custom items take 6-8 weeks to arrive, so that is usually only an option for clients who book 2-3 months prior to baby’s arrival.  If you have something special you would like to use in a session, please bring it! And, If you can send me a photo prior to your session then I can prepare other items to coordinate with your special item.  And while I’m on the subject of special items, one of my favorite set ups was specifically designed with sentimental blankets in mind, if you bring your little one’s nursery quilt or other blanket that holds special meaning to you, we can use it in this set up:

Back to props I have on hand, here is a very small sampling of some of the fun stuff we can use during your session…

I have dozens of headbands, and many many more bonnets and knit hat/pants too!  Yes, I have a problem passing up adorable newborn props, ha!
